Ayşegül Yörükoğlu, a prize-winning classical pianist and performer, honed her skills under the tutelage of Naum Grubert at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where she recently completed her Master's Degree, supported generously by Jacques Vonk Fonds. Ayşegül has also been a recipient of a Grotrian-Steinweg piano by Concertgebouw Foundation.
Ayşegül has formed a violin-piano duo with the violinist Erten Deniz Ispir. Their duo was awarded the 1st Prize in Ulvenhart Klassiek in 2022. They also performed on TV show Podium Witteman on Dutch television.
Ayşegül started playing piano under the guidance of Beyhan Bakırcı, and her professional music journey began at the age of 9 at the Antalya State Conservatory, where she studied piano with Samir Mirzoev. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Sergey Koudriakov.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous international competitions, earning various prizes. Notable achievements include her success at the 8th International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in Ukraine, the 4th International Vavilov Piano Competition in Russia, as well as securing 2nd prizes at the 19th International Music Competition in Latvia, 1st Malta International Piano Competition, and the 10th International Pera Piano Competition in Turkey. She received 1st place at the 3rd International Slobozhanska Fantasy Piano Competition in Ukraine, followed by a special prize and scholarship at The International Sergey Rachmaninov 140th Anniversary Festival in Germany.
She had her orchestral debut at just 10 years old. As a soloist, she has performed at the stages of NRW Orchestra in Germany, Sumy Regional Symphonic Orchestra in Ukraine, Lugansk Regional Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Orchestra in Turkey.
In addition to her background in classical music, Ayşegül was an active participant in the Creative Performance Lab, an interdisciplinary collective at CvA during her studies. Furthermore, she forged collaborations with musicians across genres, including electronic, world music, folk, and jazz. Since 2024, she has been playing in a techno live act duo called Şuur, which she founded with electronic musician Fer.
