Ayşegül Yörükoğlu is a classical pianist, composer and multidisciplinary performer based in the Netherlands. After completing her master studies in piano performance at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Naum Grubert, she has continued performing across various disciplines for diverse audiences, with a focus on blurring the lines between the performer and observer.
In 2024, she co-founded NEFES with breathwork facilitator Lieneke Grollé, creating performances that blend breathwork meditation with improvised soundscapes for audiences and festivals across Europe. Their duo project was awarded a subsidy from the Gemeente Utrecht.
That same year, she also began exploring industrial electro-acoustic techno with ŞUUR, and formed another duo, Algorhytmica, which focuses on experimental electronic music through live coding.
Ayşegül's musical journey with piano began with Beyhan Bakırcı at the age of 7, and later studied at Antalya State Conservatory with Samir Mirzoev. Her career took a significant leap when she was invited by Victor Merzhanov to study at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she completed her Bachelor's degree under the tutelage of Sergey Koudriakov in 2017.
Throughout her career, Ayşegül has performed with many international orchestras as a soloist and participated in numerous music competitions. Her notable achievements include Special prizes at the 8th International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in Ukraine and the 4th International Vavilov Piano Competition in Russia. She received 2nd prize at 19th International Music Competition in Latvia, at 1st Malta International Piano Competition, and 10th International Pera Piano Competition Turkey, and won 1st prize at the 3rd International Slobozhanska Fantasy Piano Competition in Ukraine. Additionally, she was honored with a special prize and scholarship at the International Sergey Rachmaninov 140th Anniversary Festival in Germany. In 2022 her violin piano duo with Erten Deniz Ispir won the 1st prize at Ulvenhart Klassiek and performed live on Dutch television. In 2025, they released a recording in the 300 Jaar Violen album, produced by the Muziekinstrumenten Fonds, alongside various other artists.
During her studies Ayşegül's passion for collaboration started to extend beyond classical music. At the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, she actively participated in the Creative Performance Lab, an interdisciplinary collective, and has since developed projects with musicians from diverse genres and artists from various disciplines.
